Sri Subodharama International Buddhist Centre is situated on a small hill adjoining Peradeniya town in Kandy district; served by the cool breeze of river ‘Mahawelli’ and facing the ‘Hanthana’ mountain range. It performs religious, educational and social welfare services in Sri Lanka as well as other countries.
SSBC is a charitable organization; so is exempted from tax by the Sri Lankan government. This Buddhist centre is managed by the Subodharama Sasana Seva Society.
To promote studies and research in to the religious, philosophical and cultural aspects of Buddhism in accordance with the monastic tradition of Sri Lanka.
More than 1,500 children attend the Sunday Dhamma School to study the Buddhist teaching and practice the precepts. At present classes are held in both Sinhala and English medium.
Sri Subodha Meditation Centre is located in the hill country of Sri Lanka, surrounded by the green misty mountains creating the serene Valley, Ambuluwawa, Nilambe, Peradeniya.
